Paper Sample Pack Updates

John BosleyMiscellaneous 3 Comments

It seems like towards the end of every year I need to make small updates to the different paper sample packs that I offer. This year is no different. While there won’t be very many changes, there will be a few.

Big Paper Sample Pack

The Big Sample Pack is the first paper sample pack I ever made and has remained fairly consistent over the years. Still, changes happen, so what’s changing this time? One of my favorite inexpensive papers is getting harder to find, so unfortunately I am removing Fabriano EcoQua. If you are able to find one of these notebooks at an art supply store and have never used it, I’d highly recommend trying it out.

Something can’t be removed without adding something back, so I’m happy to announce that Iroful will now be appearing in the Big Sample Pack. It was previously only available in the Custom Sample Pack, but it is now widely available, so it’s time it finds a home in the Big Sample Pack.

Custom Paper Sample Pack

I’ll also be making some changes to what’s offered in the Custom Sample Pack. This is based both on changing availability and new papers on the market.

Removed Paper Samples

Added Paper Samples

  • Yamamoto Cosmo Air Snow
  • B7 Natural 75gsm
  • View Corona 52gsm

These changes will also affect the Everything Sample Pack.

Pen Show Sample Packs

I still have a few CO Pen Show Stationery Sample Packs left, so if you like writing letters, this would be a great sample pack to grab while they’re still available.

Shipping

I’m going to be keeping an eye on shipping prices. USPS has temporarily raised their prices for shipping packages over the holidays, but they are expected to go back down mid-January. With that being said, given the way the government is operating these days, I’m not 100% confident that they’ll go back down. I haven’t changed my shipping rates yet, but if they don’t change, my domestic shipping prices will have to go up a bit.

Wrap Up

That’s about it for now. There are a few other new papers on my radar that may get added at some point in the next year, but until that happens this is going to be what’s offered for 2026. Have a great end of 2025. Happy writing!

  1. Ayush is great paper. I was lucky to get some from some stores three years ago and also buy some from the company in India 2 to 3 years ago and I’m using them sparingly to last & I got some from Amazon who was selling some of the notebooks last year for a very short while, but some of them arrived in pretty shabby condition.

The Fabriano was quite a surprise because I always seem to see a lot of them in Blick and some of those kind of stores. I do love that paper though it’s tremendous.

Ayush is some good paper, unfortunately it’s just not carried by very many retailers. As for Fabriano, I used to see them in art supply stores all of the time, but my local shop has stopped carrying it. Looking for it online has proved equally difficult. While Blick does carry it, it looks like most other retailers have stopped selling it, so I decided to go ahead and remove it while I was already making other changes.

      1. Definitely understood, considering those situations that have evolved. I had difficulty buying Ayush a few years ago directly from India. I love the Fabriano paper and the fact that they have notebooks that have a huge # of pages. Thanks for posting this stuff.
